wisdom teeth says...: April 2007

I've had an insanely busy/stressful week. Basically I've spent every waking moment until yesterday afternoon working either at the regular job or in the studio with the band. For four days the only time I was at home was 30mins in the morning and 30mins in the evening before I went to bed. Then (because I'm smart) I went into work on my day off and worked a half day.

It feels like we're making some headway in the studio, though. We've been juggling schedules so that we can be there at the same time. We got 4 or 5 songs Worth of basic tracking done (meaning drums, bass, and maybe some guitar). I think we're in for the long haul with this project though as we're taking our time but also fitting into the spare time of the engineer/producer. Hopefully we'll have most of it done before we go to Los Angeles in June.

Today I'm taking it easy. Gonna watch the Astros and read. Later = Sopranos + Entourage.

I, along with everyone else in my workplace, have been hacking up a storm all week. It started over the weekend with a nasty sore throat and got worse from there. Luckily, I still had a prescription for antibiotics from when I was sick three weeks ago. I still feel like crap but it's moved into my chest and I can tell I'm on the downward side of it.

Despite being sick, I went out Monday night to see the Celebration/Blood Brothers (the two other bands besides Trail of Dead we went on tour with). I love the instant camaraderie with people you've traveled/toured with. They're such lovely guys.

I'm leaving work 30mins early to get my hair cut. By Stacey. Who isn't me with clippers and a hand mirror in the bathroom. She works at an actual barbershop*. While it isn't the same as the barbershop of my youth (where two old racists guys worked in a building the size of my living room), as long as they have a stripey pole I'm ok with it. I love when they shave the back of your neck and around your ears with the straight razor. It's the best.

*wouldn't it have been cool if instead of misspelling it babershop, I had misspelled it berbershop?

Yeah, I know I'm not much with the posting these days. I'm into a pretty good daily routine - trying not to disturb it too much (as I've been known to in the past). This is also known as being boring. I've been reading alot. And doing band stuff. We had a nice long practice tonight. We sounded like shit but at least it was kinda fun. Not much else to say. I'm going to bed.
