choo talked me into signing up for library thing. it's a website that lets you catalog all your books and rate them and be a big all around book nerd. the free account only let's you put up 200 books which isn't nearly enough but I figure I'll actually pay for it when I have enough time to put everything on there. I put up a widget over there on the left that displays random books from your collection.

in other news, I saw zodiac this weekend. it was very boring. and long. way too long.

My throat is so swollen right now that when I take a drink of water I make a face like I just took a shot of whiskey. And not good whiskey, either.

Well, the music festival is over and I came through it mostly unscathed (except for my immune system). As everyone says every year, this was the most overcrowded it has ever been. The first couple of days I went all-out trying to cram in as much fun and music as I could. By Friday, I was pretty beat and only went to one show that was during the afternoon. We played six shows over 7 days which also limited my show watching time. Not much really got me excited but I saw a few good shows. Here's a (pretty much) complete list of who I saw...

Peter, Bjorn and John
the Woggles
Charlie Louvin
the Fatal Flying Guilloteens
Les Savy Fav
Besnard Lakes
the Alarm Clocks
Sam the Sham
the Reigning Sound
Mary Weiss (of the Shangri-La's, backed up by the Reigning Sound)
Deerhunter
Big Business
Turbonegro
Small Stars
Summer Wardrobe
What Made Milwaukee Famous
Apostle of Hustle

It seems SXSW started early for me this year. Last night Joe and I stumbled into the Gawker/Lifehacker party for the "interactive" part of the festival. It had an open bar.
