I feel like I've been alternating being crazy busy and being super lazy. I'm in lazy mode right now.

The shows with trail of dead went really well. It was nice to play shows where there were actual people watching/listening - probably a few hundred for us each night. Besides playing with Disney Girls, I was also working as a guitar tech/roadie-ing for Trail. This shit wore me out very quickly. It was basically me and the other tech loading all the equipment in and out every night and setting everything up and then tuning guitars during the show (they use a different tuning on each song like sonic youth). Don't get me wrong, I needed the money, but it was still super hard work.

Ummm, a hurricane is coming this way. Fun.

two things that kicked my ass...

1) Lost - I watched the first two episodes of this when they aired, but then missed the next couple so I decided to wait for the dvds. I'm on disc 5 of 7 and I'm not regreting waiting for the whole thing a bit.

2) Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings - Choo had an extra ticket. I'd never heard of them/her. This killed me. Amazingly tight soul band. She can sing and entertain like a motherfucker. I'm inspired and white.

In other news, my band, Disney Girls, will be playing with Trail of Dead at Emo's on Friday September 16. Please come out and love us. We may be playing three more shows (denton, san antonio, houston) with those boys in the days before and after that one but that's all a bit up in the air right now.
