wisdom teeth says...: April 2006

Sorry I haven't written much since I've been back. I've been totally busy since the moment I got home. Last night was the first that I didn't have band practice and I spent it over at Choo's eating pizza, drinking Pabst and looking at her old datebooks from 1996. I'll post some pics on Flickr this weekend. Maybe. Also, now that I have cable, I will watch the NFL draft on saturday.

Here's some pics someone took at the Moscow show.

I am home. Very tired. Everything was awesome. I'll post pictures later. Moscow was very weird. and dirty.

Sometime friday night/saturday morning, some thoughtful crackhead relieved me of that terrible distraction called a car radio. I'm just glad that one of them finally got it right, this being the third time they've got in there (the last two times they seem to have been sidetracked by my discmans (discmen?). I hope they enjoy the ten year old tape deck.

I leave tomorrow for Europe. I finally got an itinerary yesterday and it looks like we're gonna have a full day off in Vienna and most of a day in Moscow to wonder around. The hotel in Moscow is right on the Moscow River and looks like some crazy old palace. I'll take bunches of pictures.

It hasn't been an overly-long day, but it has been overly-stressful. I hate it when I have to actually think at work. Bleh. Thinking + mindless meetings make for a irritating day. I'm tired and I'm tired of being tired.

Tonight I'm going out for drinks with a pretty girl. Wish me luck. And the ability to hold up my end of a conversation. Everyone who knows me, knows I'm not a talker until you actually know me and therefore it can be hard to get to know me. Hopefully I'll just remember to ask a lot of questions. That makes thing easy.

Ug. I need a shower.

I realized yesterday that they speak a weird version of german in Austria. I took two years in high school and two years in college of german so I've been trying to brush up on it a bit so that I may not be totally clueless in Vienna. So far all I really remember is how to ask where the bathroom is.

I'm starting to get rather excited about my trip next week! I haven't talked about it much on here for fear of jinxing it, but, for those of you who don't know, I'm going to Vienna and then to Moscow next week. I'm going to be working as a guitar tech for Trail of Dead. This is my first time overseas and my stomach is all twisty with anxiety and excitement. I'm not sure, but it seems as if we'll have some time for touristy stuff while there. I'm not looking forward to the plane rides but I have a brand new prescription for sleeping pills and some ear plugs so I'm as prepared as I can be.

Tonight, directly after work, Brothers and Sisters are going into the KUT studios to record some songs and get interviewed. I don't really like doing this kind of stuff but I shouldn't complain and just count myself lucky to do it. It isn't being broadcast live and, to be honest, I'm not sure what they're going to do with it.

I'm very sore today from a mean game of kickball yesterday. It was a beautiful day. Sunny. Breezy. 80 degrees. I met up with Patricia and some of her friends to play at a park over by Trudy's. This is the only exercise I've had in the past six months and I can tell. Besides sore muscles, I have sharp pains both of my knees when I go up or down stairs. It was fun though.

Pillowfight!

I went to a gigantic pillow fight last night. Here's some footage. Above are some photos I took. The top one is the whole crowd. Below it are Will and Patricia multi-tasking during the fight.

Not much to talk about. Been busy busy busy. I think this past Sunday was the first day I just sat around in a long, long time. The show was pretty good on Friday. Thanks to everyone who came out. I like playing at the Parish (even if we were told to get there at 7pm so we could soundcheck when actually never got to.) We're playing there again in May with Essex Green.

Camp X-Ray has a couple of shows coming up also. Next Friday (April 14) at the Artillery. I don't know anything about it really. I'll try to get more info if I can. Then at Sound on Sound in May and Emo's in June.

Also, I have new roommate. Her name is Andra. She is a neat freak and has bad luck (such as getting kicked in the head twice at two seperate shows by the same band, breaking my bumper, her new work computer crashing the day after she got it - really I could go on for awhile.) I'm glad she moved in. Hopefully the bad luck will stop at our front door!
