While I was boozing it up at the whisky bar last night, my car was broken into. How shitty is that? They busted out a window and went through everything. Thankfully I didn't have much in there so the crackhead who did it only got a discman and a couple of cds. Left my dashboard stereo (is it that shitty?) It's not uncommon for me to leave guitars or amps or my ipod in my car but I was lucky this time. Drunken make out sessions later almost make up for the window, though.

My head hurts today.

At the folks' house in Morgan's Point. Am here until Thursday. I'm enjoying their cable television and wireless internet.

Went out last night with all the regulars. It's odd that when I come back here for holidays, when I go out, I hang out mostly with people back from Austin like myself. There were a few old Temple people there at the new, small town, yuppie bar in downtown Temple (where beer costs a good bit more than in Austin.) One of them was probably my best friend when I was in elementary school. He lives in Austin now, too, but I think in all the time I've lived there I've only run into him once. I'm not sure I'd want anymore than that anyway.

When I was here over Thanksgiving I was feeling very nostalgic so I took a photo tour of my old schools. One of them has been taken over by the Catholic School that was across the street. One is even more rundown - it's right across from some not so nice government housing. One doesn't seem to have changed a bit. I also saw my middle school band teacher while I was at lunch. God, I hated that woman.

So I'll be here for a few days. I'm going to try my best to do something besides sit around and eat and watch tv. I'm not sure what's going to be open tomorrow (the day after christmas) but I'm going to try to hit the few thrift stores in town as well as the used book store that I used to buy my comic books at.

Took my computer back because a few things were still wonky but they opened it up real quick-like and it was just a few loose hook-ups (I love loose hook-ups, don't you?) So since I'm getting used to the whole computer thing again I posted some pictures from the last brothers and sisters show over on my flickr account.

Otherwise, not much is going on round here. I got all my xmas shopping and shipping done which, granted, is not all that much. I think I going to my folks house on saturday and I'm not sure how long I'm staying. Depends how much I can stand. Ummm. Yep.

Thank you, Choo, for the massive book exchange (even though all it involved was me returning books I had borrowed and taking some different ones) and the cornbread. It looks like I'll be reading crap-tons of discworld books for the near future.

Holy Shit! I'm blogging from home. $90 later and my computer kinda works. Well, better than it did anyway (which wasn't at all).

Just got back from seeing the Sword. I've been listening to alot of metal the past week so this just topped it off.

I spent the afternoon taking band pictures with Brothers and Sisters. It involved climbing on abandonedsemi-truck rigs, sitting in crack pipe-infested fields and and laying with my head on railroad tracks. The whole thing wasn't as bad as I expected. This kind of thing is always weird for me because as much as I crave attention sometimes, I'm crazy shy in front of cameras (still or video).

Speaking of the band, check out this rad photo from our show at ruta maya...

OK, my computer is totally getting an overhaul right now. It's actually in the shop. I can't wait to have it back but I will miss my field trips to the library.

I seen a several movies in the past week. new harry potter. syriana. narnia. harry potter was the best. syriana was pretty good, too. narnia is a much more of a childrens movie than I expected. also, too long.

we had bands stay at our house last night. I like being a host to people on the road becuase I know how much they appreciate it. it's not an easy life. sometimes I piss myself at the sight of an actual couch to sleep on.

OK, still no computer at home but the library is fast becoming my good friend. If only I didn't owe like $100 is late fines then I could nab some good records while I'm here. Things have been going pretty damn good. The brothers and sisters show last thursday was an awesome success. Thanks to all the lovely people who came out. I hope you enjoyed it. Our next show is a new years eve party. Then on sunday Joe got me into the waterloo records xmas party where I got to see Roky Erickson play. It was a dream come true. I never thought I'd get the chance. Also, in other news - it looks like I'm going to need to get a passport. Someone is going to Austria.
