Hey peoples, all is well in Daveland. Maybe a bit uneventful which would account for my uncharacteristic passion for baseball these past few weeks. Weird. I always hated baseball and counted it as an anachronism. Leftover bullshit from a bygone era. Maybe that's why I like it now. Also, they got rid of most of the steroid induced overkill that has plagued the sport for the past 15 years. And the Astros are in the World Series for the first time ever. Hell, this is this is the first time any Texas team has been there.
I'm leaving Wednesday morning for an extended road trip with a girl I've never met but who by all accounts seems perfectly wonderful. So I'll be in Seattle, then Vegas, then Colorado for the next couple of weeks. I'll return home a road-hardened warrior on Nov 7, the day before I turn 31. (How fucked up is that?) I may or may not do some updating from the road. I have no idea. Everything will be played strictly by ear. I'm excited. Also, I'm flying in a plane which is something I haven't done since 1994 when I flew to Lubbock to visit a really smart girl who I had a crush on. I'm freaking out more about flying than the rest of the trip combined. Eeeek!

In an effort to make some cash I've now ventured into the world of online sales. I put my big ol' reel-to-reel 8 track up for sale on craigslist. I also put a few books up for sale on amazon in the used section. I'm very uneasy about all this kinda stuff. I mean, I know everything's cool but I always still don't quite trust all this.
The Astros are going to the world series! Yay!

I've finally uploaded some more pics to my flickr page. There are some from Courtney's birthday boat party back in August, some more tour pics and a few random one just floating around in there.

All I've had to eat today is three chili dogs and a pb&j sandwich. I think this kinda rules, however, if you were standing next to me you might not think so.
I spent the day drinking beer and watching sports. very nice. astros won. ut won. notre dame lost (which I don't really care about except that it means usc won.)
Last night was a down night. I went to beerland briefly but only because it was a benefit to raise $$ for the rollerderby documentary that Cory is editing. I was still feeling crappy from thursday night which invloved peeps coming over to watch baseball, drinking alot, going out to bars, drinking more, bringing several people home from said bars and drinking more.
I have no plans for tonight but I'm down for whatever is cheap.

I'm nervous about an impending trip but am also sure it'll be rad and exciting and new. Money is freaking me out. New people is freaking me out. Long car rides are pretty rad, though. They make it easy to become really good friends with people. The whole foxhole-mentality thing. On the last night of the trail of dead thing, driving back from San Antonio at 4am, Kevin and I had dueling ipods going on - both of us with itrips (the little mini-fm broadcast things) trying to see whose ipod could out power the other and rule 87.9fm. I won (mostly) but I think it was because I was playing the Sword. That's the kind of dumb shit that only happens after a few extended car (van) rides.
Off-track. My point being, this will be fun. And good for me. And new. And I'll see places I've never seen. And have adventures. Perhaps in Las Vegas.

I've been spending all my time at home thanking god that someone came up with netflix. Recently my days have been filled watching the first season of Millennium. I have no idea why I didn't watch this when it was on - Lance Henriksen in a show created by Chris Carter? But it's damn good.
Otherwise I have been occupied by trying to find free things to do with my time. Taking walks. Reading on the porch (now that the weather is somewhat decent.) Going to strip clubs for Andra's birthday (ok, that wasn't free.)
